I interviewed my father who was 9 years old at the time of the moon landing. I hadn't gotten a chance to speak so directly to him about his recollection of this amazing moment in history. Interviewing him was a great experience and a reminder to make more of an effort to speak to the people around me about their interactions with history and technology. You never know what you might learn from an oral history! Click on the linked video to hear him introduce himself.
The following pages will build on each other. I will first focus on individuals in terms of personal memory and the astronaut as a cyborg. Then, I will zoom outwards to the community and society to ask larger questions about the technology, education, and historical memory of the moon landing.
