Counselor Services
Classroom Lessons
The counselor presents classroom lessons in grades Kindergarten and 1st grade that teach skills such as whole body listening, personal space, self-regulation, kindness and inclusion, tattling versus reporting, and growth mindset.
Individual Counseling
Short-term individual counseling is available for all students at the request of parents/guardians, teachers, and students to meet the needs of students experiencing difficulties with academic or social/emotional concerns.
Group Counseling
Group counseling is available to all students and may be requested by students, parents/guardians, or teachers. Groups last 4-6 weeks and provide students the opportunity to work with and receive support from peers who share similar challenges. Some examples of counseling groups that are available are friendship and self-esteem, self-regulation, social skills, and following directions/routines groups.
Parent and guardian permission forms will be sent home prior to individual and group counseling participation.
