Middle School Wood Shop
Honor, Trust, and Accountability
This is a beginning woods class and a recommended prerequisite to the other woodworking and construction technology classes offered at Idaho City High School. All students will be learning, project design, project planning, material mapping and material estimating. Students will improve their math skill and build on good work ethics. Through meaningful hands on practice and small projects, students will safely and properly utilize the hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary machinery that is available in our fully equipped wood shop.
**This course and all Idaho City High School and Middle School shop and construction classes are open to all students. We are non discriminative and encourage all students, male and female, to participate in all of our shop and construction programs.
"Just Make It," a popular after school program by Mr. Standerwick in the wood shop. This after school program gives students in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades an opportunity to explore the exciting world of woodworking before they get to middle school.
