My First Roller Coaster Ride

Click click click. That day was life changing, it was the first day I went on a roller coaster. We started the day off by putting on our swimming trunks in the morning. My mom, dad, and brothers were all happy because we were going to Dorney Park. This trip was going to be amazing, although I have been to Dorney Park before, it was only for the water rides. But this time it was different, I was always too short for the roller coasters and was told “you're too short” but that day, I had finally made a foolproof plan.

The plan was to get my shoes and a pair of socks, then stuff the insole so I could be tall enough. We even measured my height at my house! This plan was literally foolproof. At least that's what I thought. The problem was when socks have a lot of pressure on them, they compress So after going to Snoopy Land for 2 hours for my little brother, the socks had hit their limit. They were like a pancake that was smashed with a 10 pound weight. So by the time we got out of Snoopy Land, I lost an inch of height. But we didn't notice until we got to the first roller coaster of the day Steel Force. I was really nervous, scared, and happy. I didn't know what to do but to wait in the hour long line. This was it: I was about to ride my first roller coaster.

We went up to get in the cart and they did not measure me, I was filled with joy I can get on the ride. But little did I know the horror I was getting myself into. We went to the back of the Steel Force because my older brother told me, “it’s slower in the back.” So I trusted him, which was a mistake because he was intending to trick me. As the rest of my family warned me to sit in the front, “it's faster in the back!” I got in the cart. My brother grinned like the Grinch who stole Christmas. It was a setup!

I stupidly sat in the back. I said in a panic, “stop the ride let me switch my seat!” The administratorignored me as I ducked my head because I could barely see anything. I lifted my head up to realize there was a humongous drop the size of Mount Everest. I spontaneously started to punch my brother, yelling at the top of my lungs, “you did this to me!” He started laughing at me!

This was it. I started to think of my last words as we were about to drop millions of feet. I heard the clicking of the roller coaster going up the gigantic hill. Click click click. Every click felt like an hour long. Then we stopped for what felt like seven years, but was actually a couple of seconds long. “I’M GOING TO DIE!” I screeched. I thought my life was over and I ducked my head again.

When the ride was almost over and I was traumatized. We started to get off and I got really dizzy, but I still wanted to go on other rides. So the second ride we went on was Thunder Hawk. I was scared because it was wood, and guess what - they didn’t measure me again! So I was in the clear. It gave me chills just thinking about it, but Thunder Hawk wasn’t as horrifying as Steel Force. Then we went to Demon Drop, and again they did not measure me, but this time my mom told me to lift my head at the bottom so I wouldn't hit my head.

Then the last ride we went on, or at least attempted to, was Talon. But this time they measured me, and we didn't know that my socks were as flat as a dime so they stopped me and I couldn’t go on, I argued and argued with the lady but at the end I couldn’t go on. I can't believe it my plan failed i thought it was foolproof. So we left the park - but not without funnel cake.
