Lehigh University Homework Club- Closed
This program is brought to us by Lehigh University's Community Service Office. This program provides students with the opportunity to complete homework assignments, receive 1:1 tutoring in core academic subjects, and provide an avenue for social recreation and mentorship. Sign Ups required. Space is limited.

ArtSmart
Through the school district’s partnership with ArtsQuest, students are given the opportunity to experiment with and study a variety of artistic styles and learn about contemporary artists courtesy of the various artists who led the classes. This program is a great way for students to build confidence in their artistic expressions. Students will stay afterschool for homework help and then be chaperoned off-site to the Banana Factory for programming.

Gardening Club
This program is provided through our Farm-to-School, Science Department, and the Community Growers of Lehigh University. It allows students to learn the science behind growing plants by utilizing various techniques in our greenhouse, rooftop garden, and Esperanza and MLK Jr. Community Garden plots. Sign ups required.

Gay Straight Alliance (G.S.A.)
G.S.A. clubs are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. At G.S.A. club meetings we will promote a more inclusive and accepting learning environment for all students, plan events to educate the school community and debunk stereotypes about LGBTQ+ individuals and issues, create a brave space to discuss concerns and address bullying related to a person’s real or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity, and empower young people to become leaders and role models within their school community. Sign ups required.

Yearbook club students will have the opportunity to work on gathering images and designing the Broughal Middle School yearbook! Students will also help promote yearbook sales by making posters and distributing information. Sign Ups required.

At the Broughal Middle School Knitting Club, students will learn how to knit various items that will be used to enrich and support our school and community. Knitting supplies will be provided, but donations are always welcome! Students are welcome to use free time in the club to work on personal items, but those supplies must be purchased independently. Sign ups required.

Reading Olympics is a countywide reading event that encourages students to increase the quality and quantity of books they read for enjoyment. The Reading Olympics Program is based upon the belief that good reading habits form the foundation for a productive and successful life. Students will compete in a competition in the Spring.
