About Us

Broughal Middle School, in the Bethlehem Area School District, is a United Way Community School with Lead Partner, Lehigh University, and Corporate Partners Just Born, Inc. and St. Luke's University Health Network. Broughal Middle School was designated a Community School in May 2010. Over the past 12 years of effective collaboration, Broughal has shown its commitment to ensuring that all students receive a quality education and achieve increased academic levels of success. Beyond the regular school day, we provide a vast array of programs for students to enhance their academic, social and emotional growth. We also support Broughal families and community members through family-focused events, parent learning academies, and family center health & social services.

What is a Community School?

A community school is both a PLACE and a set of PARTNERSHIPS between the school and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities.
