About Me

Philadelphia Marathon 2017

Hello there!

I'm Jen Esposito, the art teacher for Hanover and Asa Packer Elementary Schools.

I started teaching art in 2001 as a volunteer. I was the director of an art program for immigrant children and found the experience so rewarding I decided to pursue a career in art education. In 2007 after earning my teaching certificate I taught at Pleasant Valley Intermediate School for six years and then Towamensing Elementary in Palmerton for two years. I joined the Bethlehem Area School District in 2015. In addition to being certified in Art Education I hold a BFA in sculpture from Kutztown University.

My job is never boring! I work with so many enthusiastic young artists and get to watch them grow creatively year after year!

When I'm not in the art room I'm probably training for my next marathon or spending time with my husband Giles and our two dogs, Oyster and Penny. Our home in the woods outside of Kutztown is a little bit of paradise. We see lots of song birds, deer, foxes, turkeys, turtles and even hear coyotes on occasion! I love to garden and grow lots of garlic every year! I also enjoy reading stories about daring human achievements, listening to jazz, and watching sci-fi movies.

Students often ask me what my favorite color is. Usually I say it depends on the day and how I'm feeling. I change like a chameleon!

I want to provide the most positive and productive learning experience for all of my students. I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about your child’s art education or comfort in the art room.
