Homework

First Graders will not have much homework this year. A math page and an occasional writing or phonics page will come home. This should take no more than 10 minutes. If it takes longer, please write me a note on the page and I will help your child the following school day. 

Our class will also participate in Book It! This program is sponsored through Pizza Hut. Fill in the monthly calendar and return it at the beginning of the new month. If your child has read most of the days of the month then they will receive a free personal pan pizza. Though we encourage 10 minutes of reading, it is not required.

Some students may come home with nightly homework from their reading specialist or MTSS aide. This should be done nightly. This reading will count towards your child’s Book It goal of the day!
