How do I put a book on hold?
go to the BAMS library homepage
choose online card catalog from the menu on the left
Login with your google account (top right of the page, click login)
Search for the book that you want (just like you would on the Card Catalog Computer in the library)
When you find the book that you want, click the word Hold (see image)
The Librarian will then get a message to pull that book for you when it comes back in and it will be checked out to you and you can pick it up from the wire rack outside of the library.
Change your mind?
If you no longer want the book to be on hold for you:
Click on UnHold (see image)
How do I get a book from a different BASD school's library?
go to the BAMS library homepage
choose online card catalog from the menu on the left
Login with your google account (top right of the page, click login)
Choose the 3-line menu to the right of the search box to open an advanced search (see image)
Select the school from which you want to search for the book from the pulldown menu labeled "Location" (see image)
Search for the book that you want (just like you would on the Card Catalog Computer in the library)
When you find the book that you want, click the word Hold
The Librarian will then get a message to pull that book for you when it comes back in and it will be checked out to you and you can pick it up from the wire rack outside of the library.
If that doesn't work because it doesn't give you different location options...try this:
click on the More pulldown menu and choose Back office
This will open Destiny's back office and will look different from the Destiny Discover page
Select Catalog from the top menu options
Narrow your search by selecting the school you want to search from the Location pulldown menu under the search bar
Then use the search bar to find the book you want (you can search by title, author, keywords, subject, or series)
When you find the book, click on it, and select Hold It from the button choices along the right side
How do I see what I have out, when it's due, and if I have fines?
Be sure that you are logged in to the online card catalog (see above instructions)
Along the top of the page there are pulldown menus, choose My Stuff (see image)
From here you can see:
What you have Checked outed
When those items are due back
A history of items you have checked out
Items that you have placed on Hold
Items that you mark as "Favorites"
And if you owe any fines
How do I renew my checked out items?
When logged in, choose My Stuff (see instructions above)
In the bottom right corner of the black box that is around each material that you have checked out are Three Dots (See image)
When you click on the three dots, a menu will appear with the first option being Renew
Cick Renew and you will see the due date of that item change
