As we approach the end of the school year, we are preparing for the upcoming Spring Keystone Exams. These assessments are vital for measuring student progress and fulfilling state graduation requirements. Please review the details below regarding testing dates, requirements, and schedule changes.
In accordance with federal accountability requirements and Pennsylvania state law, students must participate in the Algebra I, Biology, and Literature Keystone Exams. Testing is required for:
Any student currently enrolled in English 10, Biology, or Algebra 1.
Students who have not yet reached the "Proficient" level (score of 1500) or who missed previous testing windows.
Pennsylvania Act 158 outlines specific pathways to graduation; for most students, these exams are a primary component of that process. In accordance with federal accountability requirements, all students must participate in the Algebra I, Biology, and Literature Keystone Exams by spring of their grade 11 year. Generally, if a student can receive instruction, then they are also able to participate in state assessments.
