Coaches

Coach Karas is now in his 14th year coaching soccer at Winder-Barrow High School. As a native to the Barrow County area, he grew up playing soccer at the Barrow County Recreation Department (now know as Piedmont Soccer Academy) and the YMCA Premier Soccer League. He also played high school soccer for Winder-Barrow High School and Apalachee High School (he attended Apalachee in 2000 after construction was complete, though it doesn't affect his loyalty to the Soccer Doggs). He continues to be passionate about the success of the WBHS Soccer Program, the development of its young players, inside the classroom and on the field, and he has high hopes for the upcoming season.

​Coach Dowdy is a former WBHS Soccer Dogg who went on to play for Piedmont University in North Georgia.  He returned to assist with the Varsity Men's team helping lead the team to playoffs for the first time in 14 years. He is now serving in as the WBHS Women's Head Coach with ambitions for competing in region. Coach Dowdy is currently working on his Masters in Teaching while obtaining his national license for coaching.
