Coach Thompson on Dean: "Having a veteran coach around the program, who himself was once a head coach is a tremendous asset. He thinks about things at a different level. The fact that he has been around this program for twenty-one years now and has built the relationships with our players and coaching staff that he has. Coach Scott's ability to instill discipline in our players all the while continuing to foster meaningful relationships with our players is first-rate. I appreciate his approach to the way he goes about his business. He is extremely organized in his scouting reports and readiness for practice. He is always going above and beyond for our kids and that means a lot to all of us."
Equally important, Thompson said that every player who has put on the Barr-Reeve uniform over the past 21 seasons has the utmost respect for Scott. “Dean epitomizes servant leadership plus modeling integrity and hard work to our players,” Thompson said. “While Dean is a tremendous coach, he is an even better teacher and human being.
