NAACP 2024 SCHOLARSHIP

The Nelson County Branch of the NAACP is pleased to announce that this year we will be offering one $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior from Bardstown, Bethlehem,  Nelson, and Thomas Nelson High Schools. In addition, a member of the Nelson County Branch will be sponsoring a first-year membership to the NAACP for all four (4) award recipients.

This year’s NAACP Scholarship will emphasize the following criteria:  

• Need: The NAACP’s priority is to help students who need financial assistance.

• Opportunity for Success: This could be determined by the letter of reference from the student’s school counselor(s) or teacher(s).

• Desire to attend college or career institution: The student may express their desire to attend college or a career institution in a written essay.

• Academics: Composite ACT score and cumulative grades (transcripts).

The deadline for submission of the application is 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024. If you have any questions, any member of the Nelson County NAACP Education Committee below will be happy to assist you.
