Barberton High School has entered the exciting world of esports! Through this website, you will be able to stay up to date on the games our program has to offer, what times games/practices will be, photos of recent events and activities, as well as be able to learn more about just what esports is and what it has to offer our students.

Our esports team is a part of the Esports Ohio league. Through the league, we compete with approximately 120 different high schools and  across multiple games. There are over 350 teams and nearly 1800 students in ESO. ESO's website and more information about their league can be found here.

November 10th, 2025

Our season has started this week! We are excited to see how all of our teams perform! As a reminder to all esports fans, Overwatch competes on Mondays, Marvel Rivals on Tuesdays, and APEX Legends on Wednesday!

Unlike in previous seasons, our matches are qued daily on the day of a match for both Marvel Rivals and Overwatch. This means we won't have a full schedule built out for who we will face in each week like we have had previous season. However, we will report results and post who we played against as that information is available.

August 2025

We are excited to bring a new year of esports to Barberton High School! This year we will be offering some new titles, though these will be announced closer to the start of the main season. Our league, Esports Ohio, is also changing from a two season format to having one solid central season. This also includes moving our matches from round robin in the main season to swiss rounds, which will allow for a greater level of competition. We are excited to see where this year takes us and what exciting things we will accomplish. Go Magics!

We are just about done with our Spring 2025 season. In this season, we had many successes.

Our Chess team made it to the semi-finals for chess and had an incredibly strong season again. Our club APEX team is competing in finals next week on Wednesday April 2nd. And finally, our JV Overwatch team made it to the quarter finals and our varsity Overwatch team has made it to the regionals. The varsity Overwatch team will complete on Saturday April 5th to attempt to advance again to the state competition. We hope to bring you updates on our victories!

Also, this Friday will be our yearly overnight event with the team where we celebrate our accomplishments and build team morale. It will be a wonderfun event and we look forward to sharing pictures of the fun once the event takes place.

January 2025

Our new season is underway! We are excited to bring you the main season of the year through ESO's sponsored season. This season we have teams competing in Fortnite, Overwatch, APEX Legends, and Chess. We will post match results as usual, as well as some other updates as the season progresses.

December 6th, 2024

Today the teams took a trip up to visit Cleveland State University, tour the campus, and meet with their esports coach and players. The students had a great time on campus and made some good connections. Two of our seniors are already in talks to join CSU for the coming fall semester to play for their varsity teams. November 20th, 2024

As of today, we have completed our fall season! All of our various titles made it to their finals. It was a very successful season, and we hope to continue to improve.

Our Chess team won the fall classic, bringing home total victory. Congratulations to our players: Aiden Macken, Jason Navarette, Thomas Cox, Leeland Vanhorn, and Kaiden Harris.

In addition, our APEX Legends teams finished second and third in the fall classic, having an amazing season. We hope to reclaim the championship in the spring.

The fall 2024 ESO Classic has begun! Our fall season is in swing and we are excited to bring you more esports content and hopefully some more victories this fall.
