Barberton High School has entered the exciting world of esports! Through this website, you will be able to stay up to date on the games our program has to offer, what times games/practices will be, photos of recent events and activities, as well as be able to learn more about just what esports is and what it has to offer our students.

Our esports team is a part of the Esports Ohio league. Through the league, we compete with approximately 120 different high schools and  across multiple games. There are over 350 teams and nearly 1800 students in ESO. ESO's website and more information about their league can be found here.

August 2026

With the new school year just around the corner, esports is going to be back soon! Tryouts for this year will begin in October! In addition, we are going to have the esports room back up at the high school, meaning easier access for our players and coaches. We hope we can see some incredible plays from our talented students again this year as we chase after the State Championship once again. Go Magics!

February 21, 2026

Our Overwatch team competed at the state tournament for ESO today and had a strong performance! The Magics soundly defeated their first opponent, East Canton, in a solid 3-0 victory. Unfortunately, the <agics were not able to move beyond the second round against their long time rival, Shaker Heights, being defeated 0-3. Although we were unable to bring a win to Barberton today, we have some wonderful pictures here of our playes from the event to share with everyone. The Magics will aim to be back again at states next year and go for ultimate victory.

February 4th, 2026

Our Marvel Rivals team has concluded their season. They were unable to secure a spot in their post season, however they had a very strong season finishing 25th out of the 84 teams that were competing. We hope to have the title return next year and push even further!

January 29th, 2026

Due our many snow days this season, we have had a slight modification in our required number of games to play to qualify for post season. Typically, 8 games mustbe played to qualify, though this number has been reduced to six. All of our teams have already completed enough games to qualify and any additional games completed can only further improve their standings. We are excited to see which of our teams will qualify and how next week (the last of the main season!) shakes out. Go Magics!

January 2026

We welcome back all our players from a wonderful holiday break! We are excited to continue our season. We're at the halfway point and we hope in the coming weeks to determine which teams will be able to go to the post season competitions to have a chance at winning states!

November 10th, 2025

Our season has started this week! We are excited to see how all of our teams perform! As a reminder to all esports fans, Overwatch competes on Mondays, Marvel Rivals on Tuesdays, and APEX Legends on Wednesday!

Unlike in previous seasons, our matches are qued daily on the day of a match for both Marvel Rivals and Overwatch. This means we won't have a full schedule built out for who we will face in each week like we have had previous season. However, we will report results and post who we played against as that information is available.

August 2025

We are excited to bring a new year of esports to Barberton High School! This year we will be offering some new titles, though these will be announced closer to the start of the main season. Our league, Esports Ohio, is also changing from a two season format to having one solid central season. This also includes moving our matches from round robin in the main season to swiss rounds, which will allow for a greater level of competition. We are excited to see where this year takes us and what exciting things we will accomplish. Go Magics!
