The Baptist Health Foundation Reach for the Stars Nursing Scholarship Program is an exciting opportunity for Baptist Health to support the professional development of team members wishing to pursue careers in nursing. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible Baptist Health team members who meet the eligibility requirements as outlined below. Scholarships cover costs including but not limited to tuition, educational materials, uniforms and other reasonable educational expenses. The Scholarship will not support dual degree programs. The applicant must focus on their nursing degree first. A scholarship committee will facilitate the selection and distribute funds based on employees who demonstrate the greatest potential to succeed in becoming RNs.
Eligibility Requirements
An applicant must be:
Current Baptist Health employee interested in pursuing a nursing career and must meet the minimum requirements of your employment status at Baptist Health throughout the course of the program.
Employed at Baptist Health for at least 6 months at the time of scholarship application and must not have been written up for disciplinary action within the previous 12 months.
Must have completed prerequisites for nursing school and accepted to, or enrolled in an ADN, AAS, BSN, or ABSN program at one of the following nonprofit, public accredited nursing program schools:
Arkansas State University
Arkansas State University - Three Rivers
Baptist Health College Little Rock
Carl Albert State College
National Parks College
North Eastern State
Oklahoma State University
University of Arkansas schools
University of Central Arkansas
Western Governor's University
Must not be a private college or for-profit university with the exception of Baptist Health College.
Eligible for in-state tuition only.
Willing to commit to employment with Baptist Health for 2 years upon completion of nursing degree.
Limited scholarships available for RN to BSN applicants.
Application Process
Complete and submit an application form which includes a 500-word personal statement on why you should be awarded the scholarship.
Submit three (3) professional recommendation forms. All three recommendations must be from professional sources working within Baptist Health (No family members). One recommendation must be from the applicant's direct manager or supervisor who is familiar with your work performance.
