Ways the Corona Virus can impact our mental health

CURIOSITY AND QUESTIONS ABOUT COVID-19

It is natural for your student(s) to be curious about what’s going on and asking some tough questions regarding COVID-19. The CDC has provided an excellent video directed to children with information on the virus. The various news channels may also be on intermittently at home so now is a time to consider when we listen to ADULT information on the television. Teens and kids have a tendency to worry more about their parents and loved ones and take on ADULT responsibilities when they are not asked to do so. They do this out of love for their family, the difficult part can be that it can easily cause unnecessary worry and anxiety in out children. Being mindful as parents and caregivers of where we talk about COVID-19 and other adult conversations can help to reduce your child's anxiety.
