The Nazi wanted as much power as they could get. "The Enabling Act allowed the Reich government to issue laws without the consent of Germany’s parliament, laying the foundation for the complete Nazification of German society” (“The Enabling Act”). The Nazis made this plan so that they could make unfair laws towards the Jewish without the support of political figures from the Reichstag building or anything from their coalition partners. Therefore leading them to get all the power in their hands.
The Enabling Act: even more power for Hitler, March 23, 1933, anne frank house
On March 23, 1933 the German parliament voted on whether the Enabling Act should get passed or not. Hitler gave a speech on this day in which he said that " between war or peace". At the end of the day there were 444 votes in favor and 94 votes against it. Therefore the Reichstag took in the laws and enforced it.
