After the revolution many reforms were put in place to help the people, economy, and government. “It led to significant social reforms including land redistribution, worker control of industries, and a focus on class struggle” (Fiveable). “The policy encouraged small-scale private enterprises and aimed to restore agricultural and industrial production, which had plummeted during the civil war. By allowing limited market freedoms, the NEP was seen by some as a temporary retreat from the principles of socialism to foster economic recovery” (Liu). The Degree on Land and the NEP (new economic policies) were some of the many reforms that helped Russia build up again. The Decree on Land was a reform that abolished private land ownership. During The Decree on Land land was taken from churches, the state, and nobility and then redistributed to peasants for them to do what they want. This solved class struggles by giving peasants a chance to earn money and create a better life. The NEP was a policy that reintroduced currency to the economy and allowed trade; this helped the Russian economy to recover from the effects of War continuement.
