Dr. Martha George Ripley is a persevering woman who opened her own maternity hospital in 1871, to purposely welcome, and provide exceptional care for ALL mothers. Dr. Martha went to college in Boston and graduated with honors in order to open her hospital. When she found her area for the hospital in Minneapolis, MN, she immediately got to work. She went through some rough patches socially and financially in the first few years, but it ended up working out and taking off. She was very successful and had a great record.Â
