Title: Bandera Middle School Social Studies Teacher/History Department Coordinator

I am a proud member of the Bandera Bulldog community and LOVE the staff and students at BMS.

I was born in the small (not s0 small anymore) border town of Del Rio, Texas. I attended Texas Tech University and UTSA where I studied Psychology and Education respectively. After years in the professional world - I became a teacher! The first decade of my career was spent at O'Connor High School in Helotes where I taught and co-taught World History and World History Pre-AP. Teaching middle school has introduced a whole new set of blessings and challenges but after 2 full years, I can say - I have loved these kiddos more than I ever imagined.

I am married to the funniest guy I have ever met - Rusty, and we have a feisty 7 year old daughter named Kenza. He's a car guy, I love photography and the outdoors and Kenza loves cheetahs. We spend most of our time with extended family and friends who we adore.

As for me, I'm a cat AND a dog person. I love James Dean and all things Africa. I love the mountains, upstate New York and Moab, Utah. I also like the little things... cooking, journaling, fun stickers and a good cup of coffee at any time of day. My faith and my family are the center of my world. I love meeting new people and being introduced to new cultures. I believe kindness is everything. I have tenacious and deep rooted love for history so I'm passionate about cultivating that same love in my students.
