We are thrilled that you’ve joined us as we embark upon a Fall 2025 season filled with incredible theater, dance, literary events, film screenings, family programming, and of course our signature Next Wave festival, where the art forms of tomorrow are taking shape today, right before your eyes.
We’re especially excited to welcome you to BAM—whether for the first time or the fiftieth—as we proudly announce the addition of a new facility: BAM KBH, opening on November 7 at L10.
Let’s take a moment to break down those names. KBH, you might already know, is Karen Brooks Hopkins, our President Emerita, a driving force and inspiring presence in what we do and what we aspire to do. L10—short for L10 Arts and Cultural Center—is the recently opened multi-tenant cultural facility where BAM KBH is housed, at 10 Lafayette Ave.
L10 is more than just a beautiful building providing space for BAM, the Brooklyn Public Library, the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA), and 651 Arts. It also represents a vision of community, solidarity, and strength shared among disparate but like-minded cultural organizations. This dynamic collaboration was made possible by a deep partnership with the City of New York, facilitated by the Department of Cultural Affairs.
That vision is echoed in the role BAM KBH will play in our own plans and goals. The new facility already houses our invaluable BAM Hamm Archives, making them accessible not only to our staff, but also to scholars, historians, and the artists who are making new works in conversation with BAM’s legacy.
Likewise, BAM KBH houses new state-of-the-art screens for BAM Rose Cinemas—not only expanding our already robust film programming, but also sharing facilities and resources with community partners like Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective. And BAM Education will enliven our new space with engaging, intentional programming for Brooklyn schools and students in the Samuel H. Scripps Education Center.
At a time when every cultural organization faces unprecedented challenges, we truly believe the way forward is in collaboration and community. We are so glad to have you with us on this journey.
