Setup a Chromebook for BHS

If you purchased your childs Chromebook from the BHS portal, it will be already configured with wireless connectivity for use at school. Your child will only need to sign in to the unit using their school Google credentials - which existing students already have, and new students should have received via email to their parents registered email address.


If you purchased your Chromebook from another supplier, please follow the instructions below. Note that the device WILL need to be connected to your home WiFi to complete this

1.  Sign out of any user that has signed into the Chromebook.

Click on the clock in the lower left corner, and choose the 'Sign out' button

2. From the buttons at the bottom of the login screen, choose the 'Add Person' button

3. Enter the student BHS Email Username and Password which was sent to the parent email address you provided on the student enrolment form. For students in other year levels - you should already have this information

Example Username: STU0001@ballaraths.net

Example Password: Terry2005

4. Enter the password your child either already knows, or you received in an email

5. Once the user has signed in, after a few moments the School WiFi will become available - you can check this from the settings App.

Under WiFi, a network called eduSTAR will be visible, with an icon next to it as shown in the image

7. The device is now configured to use the schools WiFi

No further software or setup is required for a Chromebook to be used at Ballarat High School

The device will NOT have wireless at the login screen, but this is not required for accounts already signed in - they will get WiFi once they have signed in
