Today was an exceptional day. Baldwin College & Career Academy successfully organized our inaugural Workforce Summit! I must admit I am quite exhausted, but my enthusiasm remains undiminished. Please don't worry; pictures and detailed explanations will be shared soon. Baldwin is making significant strides toward its goals.
More WBL NEWS: The other Work-Based Learning event in February was the Students in Businesses Day. WBL worked closely with the Chambers of Commerce to ensure the resounding success of this event. Different groups of 4 or more students had the opportunity to explore various career paths, which proved to be a highly enjoyable and enlightening experience for them. Numerous businesses, including Georgia Natural GAS, Georgia Power, The Club, Responsive Technology Partner, and even the Airport, actively participated in this event, providing exceptional hospitality. Both the students and the employees involved had an immensely positive experience. Thanks to a grant obtained by Kara Lassiter, the CEO of the Chambers, transportation and food expenses were covered for the event. Baldwin College and Career Academy hosted its highly anticipated annual College and Career Fair, a remarkable showcase of educational and professional opportunities. In our commitment to inclusivity, we extended invitations to numerous schools, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual growth. The event boasted an impressive turnout, with various prestigious institutions and esteemed businesses in attendance. Among the notable participants were industry leaders such as Georgia Power, Georgia War Veterans Home, The Retreat Jasper Health Services, Milledgeville Fire Department, and the ambulance service, to name just a few.
