A Few Extra Features

This page has information about a few of the other commonly used features of Schoology including:

Making a Class Announcement

Click on the Updates tab on the left navigation pane.
Craft your announcement (using whichever method suits your purpose.
Click Post when you are done.

NOTE: If you want the update to show up as an announcement on the top of all Schoology pages, click on the down arrow in the black box next to Post. Then select the Alarm Icon.

Completion Rules

Student Completion Rules are requirements placed on course folders and/or course materials that enable teachers to structure the flow of their course, as well as create self-paced learning for students. The following requirements are available, depending on the item type:

Must complete
Must view the item
Must post a comment/reply
Must make a submission
Must score at least

Rubrics

Use rubrics to grade course assignments and discussions by measuring performance for your students.

Rubrics may be added to the following course materials:

Assessments (subjective questions only)
Assignments
Discussions
Tests/Quizzes (Short Answer/Essay Question only)

Tracking TEKS Mastery

Student Mastery Reporting allows instructors to view student achievement on any standard or learning objective that has been aligned to Assignments, Test/Quiz questions, Assessment questions, graded Discussions, or External Tools within a course. This area contains multiple views that allow instructors to evaluate how students are learning and pinpoint students that may need additional attention.
