As the start of the new year approached, students wasted no time painting their parking spots.
This tradition has become a way for students to express their artistic ability, creativeness, and whatever else they want.
“In order to get inspired for the idea, I had to think of something that I knew would be my mantra or ‘theme’ all school year. The one thing that kept coming to mind was that I’d rather be in bed, at home, and so I created my design around this, painting a cartoon around sheep with the moon and stars around it,” Senior Carrie Merhout said.
While Merhout would rather be in bed, Senior Emma Brecht had a more studious approach.
“My mom told me to do something personal to me and while I was trying to come up with ideas I was thinking about doing something about reading because I love to read,” Brecht said. “Then the idea of a bookworm popped into my head and I started searching Pinterest for inspo pics and designed my spot.”
With such unique and different parking spots each year, this is a tradition that is not taken lightly and one to look forward to.
