My teacher says he invited me to his course, but it's not showing up in my Home screen of Google Classroom.
It's possible for your teacher to have misspelled your email address. This would also be the case if a peer shared a google file with you and you don't see the email invitation.
My teacher gave me a join code to enroll in her course but it's telling me the "code isn't valid".
You may not be on a district owned Chromebook. If you aren't, look at the top right of your screen. If you see your personal email address underneath Google Account (pop-up when you hover over the round picture/letter on the top right of your screen), that is why. Only @aztecschools.com accounts will recognize a join code generated in that domain. If you are logged in to your aztecschools account, you just misspelled the code.
What's the quickest way to get in touch with my teacher about a particular assignment - without showing everyone else my question?
You can always email your teacher from the People tab of their Google Classroom, but if your question is about a particular assignment on Google Classroom, click "View Assignment" and you will see a cell for you to insert a "Private Comment." Whatever you put in that cell will go straight to your teacher and only that teacher. It will also designate that it was a comment about that particular assignment. Here's a teacher to show you how to leave both public (if your classroom is set to accept public student comments) and private comments. CLICK HERE.
I'd like to show a friend my work and get their advice. Is there a quick way to do that?
You can assign a friend (OR YOUR TEACHER) to look at a certain passage in a file your working on. It automatically let's them make suggestions (not edits). HERE'S HOW TO TAG SOMEONE INTO YOUR GOOGLE DOC AND WORK WITH THEM ON IT.
