Teacher Observation
Domains 2 & 3 = 30% of overall score
Domains 1 & 4 = 10% of overall score
Student Growth Measure = 60% of overall score
Eligible teachers will be evaluated annually using the T-TESS performance standards. Each dimension in domains 2&3 will be scored and then will be averaged. The minimum qualifying score for TIA designation is an average of 3.7. This number is divided by 5 then multiplied by 30. This provides a score to be added to the cut score sum.
Domains 1 & 4 are also scored and averaged. There is not minimum average in these domains. This number is divided by 5 then multiplied by 10. This provides a score to be added to the cut score sum.
For each eligible class in Phase One of TIA, a BOY pre-test will be given within the first few weeks of school. The results will set a baseline for each student. In that last few of of school, EOY post-test will be given. This score will be used to determine the student growth measure (SGM) for each student.
To qualify for a designation, a minimum of 65% of a teacher's roster must meet the SGM assigned to that grade/ subject. If the number is 65% or above, the percentage is multiplied by 60. This provides a score to be added to the cut score sum.
NOTE:
60%-64% SGM = Recognized
65%-74% SGM = Exemplary
75%+ = Masters
The cut score is the sum of teacher observation scores and the student growth measure score. The sum is used to designate an eligible teacher as Recognized, Exemplary, or Master's.
Recognized- 65.6
Exemplary- 70.2
Masters- 81.0
