The school counselor at Desert Knolls is here to provide support and guidance for all students in areas of social-emotional learning, academics, attendance, and college/career. The counselor works collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other school staff to help students succeed in school and become lifelong learners who are respectful, responsible, and contributing members of the community.
Vision Statement: The vision for the Desert Knolls for the Elementary Counseling Program is that ALL students will achieve academic success, social-emotional growth, and will become college and career ready for future preparedness. Students will reach their fullest potential and successfully manage their lives as healthy, responsible, empathetic, kind, and productive citizens who have self-respect and respect others.
Mission Statement: The mission of the Desert Knolls Counseling Program is to provide comprehensive and developmental counseling addressing career, personal and social development of all students. School counselors are professional advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. In partnership with other educators, parents or guardians and the community, School Counselors facilitate the support system to ensure all students at our schools have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of our society.
