Principal's Message: Celebrating Our Success and Future Focus
I am thrilled to share some fantastic news about our school’s recent accomplishments! We are proud to announce that we have achieved a "B" rating for the third consecutive year, a testament to our dedication, hard work, and commitment to continuous improvement. Our students have taken ownership of their learning, and our overall proficiency scores have continued to rise. This achievement is a direct reflection of the unified efforts of our teachers, staff, and students, all working toward one shared goal: student success.
One exciting way we’re inspiring students is through our STEAM Career Lab, which combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics in a dynamic learning environment. Led by Mrs. Bauerelen with support from Mrs. Genesis, this program allows students to explore their interests and develop skills that align with potential future careers. Our STEAM class, offered for two quarters each year, encourages students to discover their strengths, giving them the confidence to pursue their dreams and gain a clearer vision of their future possibilities.
Please take a moment to ask your students what they’re learning in Mrs. Bauerelen’s or Mrs. Genesis’s class – we’re confident you’ll be impressed by their enthusiasm and newfound knowledge!
Warm regards,

STEAM Career Lab
By: Carolyn Bauerelen
Children enjoy unlimited options in kindergarten, exploring a world filled with creativity and curiosity. As they transition to middle school, many may feel unsure of their path and face new subjects and activities. The abundance of choices in high school can be overwhelming, leaving students grappling with decisions about their futures. Providing guidance and support during these critical years is important, helping students navigate their interests and develop a sense of direction amid all those options.
In the STEAM Career Lab, students have the flexibility to choose from a variety of labs and modules tailored to their interests. Each experiment is designed to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications, encouraging practical engagement. To reinforce learning, students tackle practice questions that challenge their understanding, followed by checkpoint tests that assess their progress. This structured approach ensures that they not only grasp the material but also develop critical problem-solving skills essential for their future careers.
At the STEAM Career Lab, students engage in a dynamic learning environment where collaboration and hands-on experiences are key to success. The structured approach encourages critical thinking and innovation, allowing students to explore their interests and build skills to prepare them for a bright future. The Career Lab promotes deep understanding and creativity, fostering a "hands-on, minds-on" atmosphere, and empowers students to tackle real-world challenges.
