Welcome to December Robles Families!
We are in full swing of Tucson winter! In December we only have 12 school days. We will be holding a 12 days of school spirit event for students and staff to participate in. We also have many important events that happen in December to consider.
Mid-year benchmark assessments are coming. The week of December 5th-9th students in 2nd - 5th grades will take the assessments for reading, writing, math, and science. Students who meet proficiency or meet targeted growth will receive an award at the Bobcats’ of Excellence in January.
We have Santa’s Village coming to Robles on 12/8 from 5:30-7:00 pm. We will have pictures with Santa along with caroling karaoke and fun family activities. We hope to see you all there!
Sincerely,
Dustie Gunn-Ader

Wow! Can you believe how fast the first semester is moving? We can’t, but here in 1st grade we are seeing lots of growth and we couldn’t be more excited.
Our 1st grade students have been working hard. In the 1st quarter, we learned how to write our numbers from 1 to 100. This quarter we are working on writing numbers from 100 to 1. Our goal is to be able to write and count fluently from 1 to 200 and 200 backwards to 1. It's a big goal, but we are almost there! In addition to number fluency, we’ve learned: that a number represents groups of ones, tens, and hundreds, greater than, less than, count on and count back to solve an addition or subtraction problem, math fact families and properties of operations.
In reading, we’ve learned about different genres such as fiction, realistic fiction, fantasy, poetry, informational texts and we even had the opportunity to read a biography about Dr. Seuss. Our reading skills are definitely improving and we are very excited as we work toward meeting our Winter Benchmark in DIBELS.
In Science we had a good time investigating pumpkins inside and outside. It was a gooey and fun Science lesson. We compared different pumpkins and even tried pumpkin seeds!
As the year continues to move forward, we have many skills that we are learning, and refining. We are very excited to see our students grow from August and know they will continue to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the rest of the school year. We appreciate the amazing support we receive from our families, as we are a team when it comes to your children’s success.
