AVP Community Connections Initiative: A Conversation About Our Future

Across AVP, there is a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience and yet much of it remains within individual groups or personal networks. Many of us have found ourselves searching for information, recreating materials, or wishing it were easier to learn from one another across regions and local groups, sometimes in the same state.

This session introduces the AVP Community Connections Initiative, a national effort focused on strengthening how facilitators and groups connect, share knowledge, and support one another.

This is not a presentation of decisions already made. It is the beginning of a structured, community-centered process designed not only to gather input, but to reflect back what we hear, identify shared priorities, and take clear next steps as a community.

During this session, we will:

Share the purpose and framing of the initiative

Reflect on common challenges and missed opportunities

Outline how input will be gathered, shared back, and used to guide what comes next

This is an invitation to help strengthen how we support the work, learn from one another, and carry AVP forward together.

What is shared will not disappear into notes. It will be visible, reflected back, and used to shape what happens next.
