MARBLE MAGNETS

  1. Place a glass flat-bottomed marble on top of a discarded book page or any other paper you have and from which you can cut design circles: old scrapbooking paper, old maps, newspapers, magazines, brochures, a loved one's handwriting, even your own artwork! Slide the marble around until you find a design you like.

  2. Once you've chosen a design, draw a circle in pencil lightly around the base of the flat-bottomed marble.

    • (Optional) Use the discarded book pages to create blackout poetry (it's National Poetry Month!). Watch the video for examples in action!

  3. Set marble aside and cut out the design circle.

  4. Use a glue stick to completely cover the design-side of the circle with glue. (Remember--the glue goes on the actual design you want to show through the marble! The glue will dry clear!)

  5. Place the flat bottom of the marble on the glue-covered design circle. Press design firmly onto the marble and then let dry.

  6. Carefully trim any design circle edges sticking out after the glue has dried.

  7. Use a glue stick to cover one side of the magnet. (Check which side has stronger magnetism for where you plan to use these magnets, then cover the OTHER side in glue.)

  8. Press the magnet firmly to the center of the back of the paper-covered flat bottom of the marble.

  9. Repeat above steps for the other three marble magnets.

  10. Voila! You have a set of four marble magnets to use or gift.

Feel free to modify to fit your vision!
