3D/ORIGAMI VALENTINE'S CARDS

  1. Choose the base of your Valentine's card: red, textured, or metallic cardstock.

  2. Cut another piece of cardstock, old book page, or fancy paper into a slightly smaller rectangle.

  3. Glue (with glue stick) the smaller rectangle centered on the larger one.

  4. Optional: Glue a colorful cardstock stripe (or as many as you'd like) across the center of the flat card for decoration.

  5. You choose! For the center design:

    1. Make a 3D heart (easier) out of paper or old book pages. (See instructions here and video + instructions below!)

OR

    1. Make an origami blossom heart (more challenging) out of paper or old book pages. (See instructions here and video + instructions below!)

  1. Glue (use glue dot in kit or glue stick) to attach 3D or origami heart to the front center.

  2. Voila! You have a decorative Valentine's card.

  3. Optional: Write a message on the back to friend, fam, significant other, someone who needs a pick-me-up, and deliver to your person! Or--find a cool old 4x6 frame and remove the glass (carefully!), frame the card, and you have a handmade gift for someone special!

Feel free to make more if you have extra supplies!

SIMPLE ORIGAMI BOOKMARKS

  1. Start with a square of paper (for example, 4.25" by 4.25").

  2. Fold bottom corner up to the diagonal top corner to make a folded triangle. Crease the folded edge.

  3. Turn 180 degrees so that the point of the triangle points toward you.

  4. Fold up the top layer of paper so that the point of the corner touches the long edge of the triangle. Crease the folded edge.

  5. Fold in the left corner to make a triangle. Crease the folded edge. Then unfold the corner back to flat.

  6. Fold in the right corner to make a triangle. Crease the folded edge. Then unfold the corner back to flat.

  7. Fold up the left corner to the top point. Crease the folded edge. Tuck the top half of the folded triangle into the pocket underneath it.

  8. Fold up the right corner to the top point. Crease the folded edge. Tuck the top half of the folded triangle into the pocket underneath it.

  9. Voila! You have a page-corner bookmark. Decorate as you wish.
