6th Grade Registration:
**Beginner 6th Grade Band members, please refer to the information posted on the home page for further details and specifics about your instrument.
It is time once again to enroll in the Band program. I highly encourage all returning wind and percussion players to participate in another great year of music making! I look forward to seeing many familiar faces (and meeting some new ones). Please complete the online registration by Sep. 5, 2025 if you are new to the band program at TBS. If you are a returning band student you do not have to re-register.
Lessons begin the week of September 8, 2025.
Please purchase the lesson book, Accent on Achievement Book II, specific to your child’s instrument. (Percussionists will be using A.oA. Bk. II for Combined Percussion) Thank you.

TBS band students participate in a number of great musical events throughout the school year. In order to maintain our tradition of high standards in performance and etiquette, I am asking that all TBS band members be committed to a strong work ethic and act responsibly.
Students should never miss a lesson or a rehearsal, except for illness or other valid excuse. Whenever possible, the music teacher should be informed ahead of time so that a make-up session can be arranged.
If a child forgets his/her instrument or is unable to play for any other reason he/she is still required to attend lessons/ensemble rehearsals.
1 - Unexcused absence from a lesson or rehearsal → Verbal Warning
2 - Unexcused absences from lessons / rehearsals → Phone Call to Parents
3 - Unexcused absences from lessons / rehearsals → Meeting with Student and Parent(s) to re-evaluate participation in the program.
**Attendance is expected at all concerts. These are the culminating events that we work hard for all year! Exceptions will be made for illness and family emergency.

Parents - Once again, I am asking the children to fill out their practice logs at the back of their lesson books. Please be sure to check and sign the logs each week - even if little or no practicing has taken place. Students should plan on putting in 10-20 minutes per day of quality practice time. The students can earn reward points for every 3 weeks in a row of practice that they complete of 100 minutes or more per week, but only if the minutes are verified (signed) by a parent.
