Travel Guidance

Avoca and other New Trier Township schools have been following Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) guidance, and recently the CCDPH has aligned with the City of Chicago’s travel guidance. Regarding that guidance (you can find it by clicking here), there are now more states that do not require a quarantine upon return to Chicago from travel. However, also note that children under 18 now must follow the PCR testing or quarantine requirements for travel to ‘orange’ states. The list of states that require PCR testing upon return or quarantine is updated every Friday.

View this updated guidance used by Avoca District 37 to determine quarantine for any student or staff member that has traveled outside Illinois for more than 24 hours. To-date, the District has followed the travel guidance issued by the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH). This will continue to be the case and this guidance could be revised accordingly.

This guidance is important especially for anyone traveling over Spring Break, and most so for international travelers, who have more stringent requirements.
