RAFT is a writing strategy that helps students write from different points of view and examine the author and audience in writing.
R=Role of author (Who is writing the piece? The student takes on various roles/perspectives as author.)
A=Audience (Who are you writing for? The student imagines the audience and adjusts their writing accordingly.)
F=Format (What are you writing? The student adjusts their writing for the appropriate format such as a speech, website, newsletter, etc..)
T=Topic (What are you writing about?)
With semantic gradients, students list words on a continuum moving from a word to its antonym.
