                                                   Summer Band Information  (August 3 - 5)

Summer Band will take place from August 3rd to August 5th (Monday through Wednesday) from 1:30 - 4:30 PM inside the cool confines of the O. Henry Band Hall. Band Camp is a wonderful opportunity for students to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and get back into playing shape while rehearsing some fun pep music.  Students who attend summer band will get to participate in the Mustang Pep Band during the fall semester. Members of the Pep Band perform at several pep rallies, the O. Henry Homecoming football game, an Austin High Varsity football game, the O.Henry Round-Up, the Casis Carnival Parade, and other fun events throughout the year.  Throughout the week, we also have planned some fun games, spirit contests, and a pizza party for the last day. What Do I Need for Band Camp?  
- Bring your own refillable water bottle or jug. 
- Bring a pencil to mark and edit your music. Music will be distributed on the first day. 
- A flip folder and lyre will be helpful but are not required for summer band. 
- If you need to use a school instrument, please arrive 20 minutes early on the first day. 
- Ensure your instrument is in good working order and that you have the appropriate supplies (mouthpiece, 4 reeds, valve oil, etc.). 
- Percussionists should bring their stick bag with all sticks/mallets. If you need help getting any supplies for your instrument, please let me know 
- Last but not least, bring a positive attitude, be prepared to have fun, and be ready to give your best effort!  

Band Camp Theme Days - Participation is optional, but prizes will be awarded daily to our most enthusiastic campers! 
August 3: Jersey & Hat Day - Support your favorite college, pro, or national sports team. 
August 4: Character Day - Represent your favorite superhero or character from a video game, movie, cartoon, etc. 
August 5: Beach Day - Dress for the beach! Pull out those flip-flops, sunglasses, Hawaiian shirts, and leis for our final day of camp. 

Band camp is totally free, and there’s no registration fee to join in on the fun! However, if you’d like to make a small donation to help cover the cost of our pizza party, daily snacks, and supplies, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for considering it! Band Camp Donation Link
