Suggestions for making a
middle school 3-year plan:
1. Read the LMSFAA choice sheet and course descriptions to identify and prioritize your areas of interest. Glance at the upper grade levels as well to see what is ahead.
2. Identify your Math pathway. Accelerated, Algebra, Geometry track provides a great opportunity for high school credit and accelerates your high school plan.
3. Identify your ELA pathway: Advanced or Academic.
5. LOTE now or later – Language Other Than English – LOTE is not required for middle school, but it is for high school. You may chose to begin your high school requirement in 7th or 8th grade.
6. Review high school credit opportunities. There are many courses at Lamar that will transfer to high school. These are available for 7th and 8th graders.
7. Consider program prerequisites. Lamar's classes are designed for level-up advancement. You may need to complete prerequisites for future courses.
8. Follow your passions and interests.
9. Talk with your current teacher(s) to get their professional advice on what would work well for you!
