Show your love for AISD libraries by sharing our stories and spreading the word about the importance of school libraries. Let people know it matters to you that our students have access to current, high-quality library resources and the support of a full-time, qualified school librarian. You can also recognize individual library staff members by submitting a RAVE (Recognizing All Valuable Employees).
Established in 2021, the Austin ISD Library Fund inspires the community to invest in equitable funding for Austin ISD Libraries. In partnership with the Austin Ed Fund, the Austin ISD Library Fund supports the broader mission of Austin ISD libraries. The Fund allows campus librarians to fundraise through LivingTree for their own schools, and also awards mini-grants to libraries across the district. These mini-grants support library programming, professional development, updates to physical spaces, and collection development. The Library Fund is led by a voluntary committee of district librarians that oversees the grant application and selection process. The committee emphasizes representation from socioeconomically diverse campuses across the district, and from both elementary and secondary schools.
You can support AISD Libraries by donating to the Library Fund today! Direct your tax-deductible contribution to a specific AISD campus by including the campus name in the "notes" section, OR, if you don't name a campus, the money will go into the general fund which supports all AISD Libraries through the mini-grant program.
You can also donate directly to a specific campus library by contacting the school.
Most AISD Libraries have only ONE person to manage all of the many, many aspects of running a library. Volunteers can make a big difference in keeping the library running smoothly.
You don't have to be an AISD parent or guardian to volunteer - grandparents, friends, and community members are also welcome! You can volunteer on a regular basis to help with the day-to-day library tasks, or on an "as-needed" basis to support specific events like book fairs, author visits, literacy programs, etc. - whatever fits your schedule.
