Forget what you think you know about community college students. The eleven students in this year's UX Design capstone course are working professionals with a diversity of experiences and skill sets, including the resilience and thoughtfulness to navigate what the world throws at them. The case study stories below showcase their design, technical, and professional learnings after a semester of working with four non-profit and civic clients on live problems with real constraints.
I think Applied Lab was the most important class for me at ACC. I enjoyed learning how to do UX in a team and working with clients as a part of a team. The design operations piece was just as important as the actual IA/research work we did...That was probably the hardest and most rewarding parts of the class because design is never in a vacuum, and that can't be more true than in my current role." - UX Applied Lab Student, Spring 2021
