The GIS Advisory Committee

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board requires Austin Community College to establish separate industry-based advisory committees for each workforce education program. The broad purposes of an advisory committee are:

The advisory committee is one of the principal means of ensuring meaningful business and industry participation in program creation and revision. See the ACC GIS Advisory Committee Bylaws for a complete description of the committee's purpose, function, and membership; and the ACC GIS Strategic Plan for our vision statement and program-level workforce competencies and outcomes (summarized from the Department of Labor's Geospatial Technology Competency Model (GTCM).
