This assignment was created to help you see different career paths and opportunities that align with your interests and preferences.
You will complete the FOCUS2 online career assessment, which has eight small assessments. Then you will look at which careers and majors align with your FOCUS2 results.
You will submit your completed FOCUS2 Portfolio and reflection questions related to two careers and majors. A success checklist will be provided.
Perhaps you have a career path in mind. This will tell you what skills and education you will need to land that future job!

To see how your week is spent. We will break our days into hour increments using a time log.
You will be given a blank table to estimate how you spend your time and a blank log to fill in for seven days. After you fill these out, you can count the actual time spent to see how close you were. There are reflection questions about how you evaluated actual time spent.
The completed assignment includes your completed estimation table, time monitor log, and reflection questions. A success checklist will be provided.
We all have a general idea of how time is spent. This gives us an opportunity to see how a week looks so we can make changes if need be. We don’t know what we don’t know, right? So, let’s find out!
This allows you to take one of the provided topics (that you are most interested in) and research to learn more about it. This paper will be a chance to work on MLA formatting, in-text citations, and researching using library resources.
You will choose one of the following paper topics to write about (in-depth prompts will be posted on Blackboard): My Future Career Path, My Purpose, or Structuring my Time to Match my Goals.
750-word minimum paper (Maximum 1200) written in MLA format. Two or more sources are cited in-text and in a Works Cited section at the end of the document. A success checklist will be provided.

We have a service learning component to this course, which provides students with an opportunity to volunteer 4 hours in the community. A reflection of the experience can be a slide deck, video, paper, or infographic.
These reflections will be related to class discussions, future goals, educational aspirations, self-care, and more! The purpose of these is to provide a space to reflect.
Packback is an exciting tool to use because it provides us with AI nudges on how to better compose our questions and responses. That said, you will be asking questions you come up with and ciitng a source for full credit.
We know the more we connect what we learn to our own lives the more meaningful it can become! Some of these topics will be similar to what you might need for a college transfer application essay.
