Application Now Open!

Career Scholars provides all-inclusive support for graduating high school seniors wanting to begin a career immediately after graduating from ACC. Participants work toward a certificate or associate degree in a field that was identified by the Texas Workforce Commission as having high demand and earning potential. As a Career Scholar, you’ll get a world-class education, the opportunity to work with industry mentors, and up to $5,000.

ACC Career Scholars receive:

Money for College: As a Career Scholar, you will receive financial assistance each semester, for up to three years, to cover tuition and fees as you work toward your workforce credential.

Personalized Support: Based on your chosen area of study, you will be paired with a Career Scholars coordinator. Your coordinator will advocate for you and help you navigate through the wraparound support available to you and assist you in becoming career-ready.

Advising: A Career Scholars academic advisor will be assigned to work with you every semester to register for classes and check for academic success, ensuring you reach your goals.

Career Services: You will have access to opportunities for industry mentors to guide you through the journey from high school to future employment, including resume writing, building interview skills and internship opportunities.

Learning Community: You will connect with mentors and peers and benefit from coordinated activities related to your success, as well as train to become an ambassador to new Career Scholars.

Within 2-3 years, you can complete your credential at ACC and go straight into a high-paying, high-demand job. These approved areas of study were selected, in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission, because these industries have demonstrated high-growth and high-earning potential in Texas in the coming years.
