TUPE Student Advocates
This program is a districtwide service club for students committed to be tobacco/vape-free leaders in their communities that meets once a month. Students will gain knowledge on the risks of smoking/vaping, engage in leadership projects and learn about civic engagement with local City Councils around smokefree policies. Anti-Vape Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest
CONGRATULATIONS to last years winners in the Anti-Vape PSA Contest!! Students and advisers were recognized on February 2, 2021 during the Alhambra Unified Board of Education meeting on Zoom. The following presentation contains Top 3 PSA video entries for middle and high school divisions!
Tobacco/Vaping Awareness Virtual Assembly
"Inside the Dark Side and Biology of Addiction"
On March 3rd and 4th, 2022, students in Grades 6-9 at all 17 AUSD schools will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual assembly to increase awareness of the dangers of smoking and vaping.
We are pleased to have Dr. Victor DeNoble Ph.D. present, as he discusses the impact of addictive drugs on the brain and the harmful consequences of drug abuse.
Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit
Research-based tobacco prevention instruction will be delivered to all Grade 6 and Grade 9 students in AUSD schools starting in February 2022. Participating teachers have been trained on the Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit curriculum.
