PBIS is a 9-year district-wide initiative to make school a place where students feel they belong and feel safe. The Center on PBIS defined Positive/Proactive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as a tiered framework for “supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health.
The CA PBIS Coalition recognized Brightwood School with a Platinum Implementation Award for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This is the highest level award given!

STAR stands for the following: S - Safe (Students and staff are safe) , T - Try (Students and staff try their best), A- Accountable (Students and staff are accountable for their actions, and R - Respect (Students and staff respect everyone and everything). Students who demonstrate these qualities are recognized for their positive behavior.
