Dana Bands

Dana Middle School Bands 


Dana has two bands, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band,  and one Marching Band (The Marching Mariners).  Both bands rehearse daily.  The Marching Band rehearses and performs at parades during the fall semester.  Dana Middle School bands perform several concerts throughout the school year, and compete/perform at State Music Festivals. They regularly receive top awards and Superior ratings at these festivals.

The Dana Marching Mariners, complete with auxiliary units participate in parades in Arcadia, Baldwin Park & Covina.  In the 2017 Baldwin Park parade, the director,  Jeff Grable was chosen to be a Grand Marshall.

In addition to the regular school band programs, Dana offers after school music ensembles for students seeking additional musical enrichment and growth.



Dana Marching Mariners is made up of instrumentalists in the band, auxiliary and marching percussion. The group has a history of many outstanding awards, top honors and superior ratings at competitions and festivals. The Marching Mariners  represent Dana Middle School in local parade events and compete in adjudicated contests. Jeff Grable is the director. Justine Williams is  the auxiliary instructor.  Kevin Sherrill is the percussion instructor. Madison Lewallen is the faculty advisor.
