Qualifications

Check out numbers 1 thru 5 to determine if you're on track to qualify for TREP!

1) Successfully complete 1 course from the Educator Pathway Coursework during 12th grade year (see chart below)

  • Course can be taken during fall or spring semester of 12th grade year

  • To count towards qualification, the class must be taken during 12th grade year. For example, if a student took ENG 1021 during 11th grade, they would need to take a different course from the pathway during 12th grade, in order to qualify for TREP.

2) On track to meet high school graduation requirements by end of 12th grade

3) College Ready in English & Math for your desired teaching pathway

  • For example, if your plan is to become an elementary school teacher, you must have completed OR, meet the qualifications to take MAT 1260 or MAT 1220

  • All applicants must have taken OR, meet the qualifications to take ENG 1021

4) Apply for FAFSA or CASFA

  • TREP may or may not be the best financial choice for you. In addition, spots are limited. It's important to complete FAFSA or CASFA to ensure you have financial options to complete your college and career goals.

  • Your College & Career Center Coordinator can assist you with the application process.

*CASFA is specifically for students who are not eligible to apply for FAFSA

5) In good academic standing at Community College of Aurora

  • Students need to have a Community College of Aurora cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.

  • Falling short of this standard does not automatically disqualify you. If you do not meet this standard, you must complete the TREP recommendation form, along with your counselor, in order to be considered for the program. Form HERE.
