AuMHC’s School-Based Services are located at elementary, middle, and high schools in the Aurora Public Schools District. Services include intake evaluations, individual, group, and family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, consultation, wellness services and case management. In addition, our therapists work in conjunction with the teachers and school staff to provide the best-integrated care possible to children and their families. The goal of the integrated counseling is to improve a child’s attendance, concentration, behavior, and social skills. To build even a stronger bond, families work with our therapists to improve family communications, anger and stress management, coping skills, parenting strategies, and self-esteem. The School-Based Services Team works with students and their families in the schools to help remove any possible barriers to them reaching a clinic for therapy.
