WHAT IS APPRENTICESHIP TO TEACHING?

High school students spend  two semesters during their junior or senior year as a paid paraeducator in Aurora Public Schools.  Placements include many elementary and middle schools throughout the district. The apprentice has the ability to make contributions to the schools while achieving personal, academic, and career growth.  The apprentice students will complete two education courses through CCA while on the Pickens campus. The first semester the students will take "Introduction to Education" and the second semester the students will take "Practicum 1". In addition, the schools help to develop a pipeline of prepared candidates for their field of work.
