Send the link to the Personal Reference forms to at least 2 teachers, coaches, or others who can recommend you for the program. One of these must be a teacher who knows you well. If you are part of an APS Pathway Program, you should ask one of your pathway teachers to complete a reference. PLEASE NO REFERENCES COMPLETED BY FAMILY OR FRIENDS!

Participation in the A2T Program requires that students follow attendance regulations and student code of conduct, perform satisfactorily at the internship site and complete all required assignments. Student interns are expected to meet all conditions of employment for the internship site. Some internship placements, in compliance with federal law, may require verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

If you are accepted into the Apprenticeship to Teaching Program, you will be responsible for following directions and meeting deadlines independently. Receipt of your application packet– complete, accurate, and on time – is a reflection of your seriousness and attention to detail. Successful completion of this task is a prerequisite for further consideration of your application.
Early Childhood and Teacher Education majors are required to complete a national criminal background check through Castle Branch ($27.45). This requirement is for both lecture-based classes where students are required to visit Early Childhood sites and Elementary Education Programs and for practicum-based courses where students spend significant amounts of time in Early Childhood/Elementary classrooms.
